View Full Version : Controlling UVs via another object

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help me out on this. I have lets say 10 objects standing in a rough circle. I have an unwrapped cylindrical mesh big enough to encompass these objects around these objects. I now want to use the mapping coordinates of my cylindrical "control" mesh, to project onto my other objects, so my mapping is pushed through onto them from this mesh. The thing is, I also want to animate that control mesh so the texture will appear animated on the other objects.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Any help appreciated!

Do you want to animate the control mesh and have the physical changes in texture location (as opposed to changes in UV coords which aren't changing at all) appear on Stonehenge OR do you not really care about the external mesh and just want to animate the texture coords?

The first I'm still being stumped by, the second is easy. Select all the objects, add a UV map, cylinder then animate the map parameters and gizmo.

Unfortunately, it's the former I'm looking for, and not the latter. Thanks for trying though! Anyone else with any ideas?
