(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/131731_1232743245/1024bound)Started off as a quick concept to test colour and other elements of Jacek's incredible artwork but quickly evolved into a finished piece. Or as finished as it gets; keep on adding detail and it'll turn into a wacky version of Where's Wally. I don't intend this to be my sole entry (I haven't started the other yet, but can reveal it will involve a large crab) but I quite like the finished product so... here it is.

This is fantastic!! You've got this 'in the bag' so far. Makes mine look like a toddlers attempt.

Well done, and the very best of luck to you.

Wonderful...what a great entry and completely yours with the feel of Jecek's work. Watch out everyone they're rolling in!

cdwalt - Thanks v much!

Mark-Jephcott - Thanks, appreciated (and don't be down on your own entry, I think it's pretty impressive, great imagination and some seriously well-executed detail!)

RandyToons - Cheers, and yes, I expect there will be a whole load of entries for this competition. Better start thinking about my next entry...

Looks really good, though I think it looks more like your style than Yerkaís style.
I know itís hard to reel in the individuality and comply with the way someone else works at times. Iím working on a potential entry and itís hard to keep from going off on my on tangent as well.

Looking forward to your next entry.

jsgknight - Cheers! (and no, please don't give up!)

Quadart - Yep, it was difficult to know just how much to copy Jacek's style and how much to stick with my own. It didn't help in that I hate (really hate) painting architecture. I think the next one I have in mind should be easier because I tihnk my style should be more suited. Still, we'll see :)

kennychaffin - Thanks - crabs are on their way (in a manner of speaking)

MartinNielsen - Thanks v much

Great work!! Althought I don't think it's 100% Yerka style, I like it very much. I understand how tough it is to keep someone else's style when working on your own idea. Anyway - good luck and keep up good work.

Wow! great job. You just made me step my level up even more. I do think this is surreal yet the atmospheric diffusion makes it not like YErka.

I may need to enter another piece to deal with the grand level of professionalism entering this competition.

Thnks for the inspiration and Good Luck!

cipha360 - Good point, thanks for the crit! I think my next one will be more similar in terms of "look" but I won't be trying to emulate Yacek's style 100%, I'm not sure that would lead to good results.

I understand what you mean about the difficulty of how much to put into this with one type of style or another and still keep it original and on track with Mr. Yerka. I think that you did a good job I look forward to your next entry and how you tackle that problem.

:surprised Impossible work! Many sweet details, relistic lightening, super idea and great style. Your painting is very dynamical, there is lot of action. But this work isn't in Yerka style. When I see your Crab, I think you will win. Ohhh... Why I don't have tablet?!

Hey Simon,
What can I say to a master? to state the obvious I guess...
No doubt this one is on a different league then most of the stuff around. very inspiring, and free of creative limits. the twisted architecture of the world you've created here is just amazing, and the small details are fun to watch, and to find every time some new cool part.
My only crit, which is probably why you choose to do a new piece beside this one, is the dynamic composition that is not typical to Yerka style. nevertheless. you covered all the options (god knows how you manage to produce such amazing drawing in such short time) so your prize is guaranteed, I hope.
Keep them coming:applause:
