hello,

i'm new to C4D.. i am coming from a limited, stumbling, learning position from 3ds max, and i've always been interested in C4D, but when i would install the demo (no ducumentation!) and fumble about, i couldn't figure out how to do anything, so i would get frustrated and delete it, returning to 3ds max.
ive become tired of 3ds max's constant digging through menus and sliding up-n-down endless rollout panels to find what i want.
C4D seems like it has a decent and customizeable interface.

i'm a skinning dork, and i get tired of looking at the same thing all the time (now using Litestep; Bad Simian theme on my desktop). Once i saw that C4D has the ability to use skins or 'schemes' i was intrigued. i have found only 1 other theme (on this site) besides the ones that come with the app.

My question is.. where can i find more schemes, and how might one go about making a scheme... should one be so inclined?
(where are some good starter tutorials for me also!) :)

thx alot...

Gendou

look in the resource/schemes folder you'll find the individual schemes. copy one of them, then open the PSD's and edit away

Since its all about your own creativitity painting in 2d on an existing scheme theres not much point in having some either is it? =P

imo at least :p

Well... it isnt just a case of loading a psd file. you can make tabs different sizes, change mapping etc by using the text file.

thanks for the responses!
and in regard, i was talking about tutorials for C4D itself.. i managed to figure out how to make schemes based on kaiskai's post. its enough to get me started... but in all reality i probably wont change it that much... move palettes here and there, maybe make new buttons if i feel like it, but learning the app itself is what i'm going to focus on first.
however, should i make any schemes, i'll be sure to post them here for everyone to try out.

thx

Hehe...didn't know it was so simple. I did one in and aubern colour for OSX style and a Lightwave sort of one for Blueberry style...

Not great..i might work on better ones..Remember to duplicate the orginal files. The blueberrygrey psds go into the blueberry folder, and the orangeosx into the OSX folder..
