As far as I remember, all of the manual and tutorials are available for download or you can purchase the set on cd's.

Ah another fellow Lightwaver, cool. You want to hit Alt+5 to bring up Net view then scroll to the bottom of the page and you should see a link to the documentation. On the next page at the bottom there is a link to the doc. Although what I do is copy the adress out of the page that will open and then paste it in net view in one of the viewports. Also don't forget you can middle click the viewport name to get it to revert to the previously selected viewport type. ie: Front view or whaterver! I love this for going back and forth. This is one of my favorate interface goodies in XSI.
Hope this helps.

since this often goes unseen by most of the new users who weren't SI|3D users as well..
the middle-click thing goes further then just viewports.
middle click in SI's world also means "repeat last click"
if you middle click a menu it will be the same of clicking the final thing you clicked in some nested submenu the last time.
it also works that way to toggle between visualization modes (midde click a view that was wireframe and it will go shaded, middleclick again and it will go back to shaded and so on)
and also works on viewports visimenu (the little eye).
I use it a lot for normals, I turn them on, check them when I do need to figure out something's orientation and then just middle clicking will toggle on/off the last item clicked.
maybe you knew maybe not.
was worth posting I guess.

Is EXP worth downloading? at the momment I am saving for a copy of Softimage XSI, though in the mean time I want to do some modeling.
Should I download EXP or is it a waist of time?

Does being able to play around with a fully functional copy seem like a waste of time?
The only thing that will be wasted, is that you can't import the work you do in exp3.0... but the experience you'll gain in the mean time, will mean that you will be far better when you get the real-deal...
Good Luck, and welcome
