View Full Version : blending a multi/sub object
belugi 06-26-2003, 11:18 PM Is there a way to blend the materials applied to selected faces of a multi-sub object? The effect that I want would be similar to the top-bottom shader. I can't use the top-bottom shader because I want to be able to control the selection more carefully.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you want a Composite Material instead of a Multi/Sub-Object. Look it up.

I am aware of the composite material. What I'd like to do is blend the edges of a material where it touches another on the same object. I want to be able to soften one material into another. I don't want to blend the entire material with another.
Thanks!

Put the Multi/SO in the top Composite slot. Copy it to the 2nd slot. Swap the IDs you want to blend. Apply your mask.
Would that work?
