View Full Version : Wrong colours when opening a PSD in Painter

Hi group,

my problem is the following: I have a RGB 8bit Photo processed in Photoshop CS3. If I now open this file in Painter X for further processing, the colours are not the same as in Photoshop.

They look pale and flat. First I thought, I were in the wrong color space (e.g. CYMK), but in both applications, RGB is set.

I tried to export the PSD as a JPG or TIFF (with and without RGB profile ebedded) without any success.

What went wrong? How can I fix it. I am sure it is a settings problem.

Thanks in advance
John

Have you checked that your colour management is the same in both programs? Have a look at John Derrys how-to info HERE (http://homepage.mac.com/pixlart/.Public/PDFs/Consistent%20Color.pdf).

If your PSD file is in the ProPhoto color space the corresponding space within Painter is KODAK Reference Output Medium Metric(ROMM)
