View Full Version : move transform gizmo problem

Firstly I'm on Max 5.1 and working in ePoly.

I'm not sure what I hit to cause this, and now I can't figure out how to remedy the situation.

For whatever reason, my vertices are only translating along the edges they are next to. It's as if I have a snap set or something, but there's not light blue overlays to show I'm using snap and snap is also disabled (as far as I can tell).

When I try to move a vertex along the x-axis, it just glides along the nearest edge that is most aligned to the x axis. It's as if I cannot edit the shape of the cage at all only change the vertex placement. Same thing goes for edges and polys.

Any help would be appreciated. :shrug:

Just found this out.

The problem also seems to be occuring in only the particular model that I'm working on. Transform gizmo on other models operates normally.

Look in the Edit Geometry rollout for Edit Poly. There is a Constraints option at the top. Do you have that set to Edge by any chance? You'll want it set to none.
