I am working on a personal illustration. It has taken me ages to get this far as I have changed my mind a lot about composition colouring etc. I would really appreciate harsh criticism on this so that I can get it looking at least half decent.

Any crits from colours used to anatomy etc are very welcome. These characters are going to be part of another illustration with a lot of background elements and graphiti style lettering to get a message across so they have to stay in a similar pose.

P.S. I am not sure if I have uploaded the image properly so let me know if I need to do anything else???

As you probably would expect there a couple of major issues in terms of anatomy, colour usage and lighting ...

Some major points:

anatomy - lower male body and his arms are way off ... rethink him again and make sure his legs would be able to carry such a massive upper body :p
anatomy - female - her arms seem to big
lighting ... where are your light sources coming from ? You suggest from the left but you don't apply it everywhere and add some random stuff here and there
overall composition ... it is always hard to draw figures and put them into a composition later on .. chances are high one gets the lightning wrong and it kinda "shows" the figures are "pasted" in ... try to get your composition in on an early stage - even if it are just some rough lines ...

I would really recommend finding a reference for this, or taking one of your own. The anatomy and lighting errors are just too many to list. =/ Remember that there's no shame in working better with references--99% of artists do, be it photographs or live models or whatever. We learn to draw from studying things in the world around us, after all!
