Alice and the Cheshire cat....

I know it's late in the challenge, but I couldn't resist. Basically, a giant steam-powered cat gives advice to Alice (wearing a jetpack & goggles) amongst a 'forest' of pipes. Initially, I wanted to add a whole cast of characters, but that seemed to distract from the narrative and deviate from the story too much.

I like the whimsicalness of this. You still got 3 days, plenty of time. I think I had 3-4 days when I entered mine. Good luck.

I just noticed the deadline change. Guess I'll have to ramp things up a bit. Thanks!

Still working... I think I just might be finished by Monday. Most of the work I still need to do is on Alice. Nothing on her is done, but I wanted to stick with a more whimsical style and proportions than realistic.

Also, I'm not sure if I need the rabbit/airship in the distance - it's placement/size seems insignificant for the character's role. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, and I'm going to change Alice's pose a little so she's using an old hand telescope.

I love the cat, this looks like it is going to be great, but it is going to be key that you nail alice's pose, I hope you can get done!

I significantly altered Alice's pose for something a bit more mood invoking. I think she works a lot better here.

Enjoy!

Software: Photoshop

A modified scene from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alice listens to the mechanical Cheshire Cat's advice as she watches the white rabbit drift away in his flying machine amongst a 'forest' of steam pipes.

I love how the cat dominates the composition and the styling of Alice. I did a steampunk Alice too. It's cool how we have different interpretations. I like the high contrast lighting in yours!
