View Full Version : nParticle Object Emission Problem
JoRoVFX 01-15-2009, 06:49 PM Everytime I try to emit nParticles from an object they fly in every direction although I've turned off every speed related emission attribute as well as any collision every nucleus variable relating wind or gravity. I have no fields in the scene. They should be dead but about half of them bounce around an they all act as though there is some force there responding to but I've turned everything I can see off....wth?

Perhaps you created water style particles and "enable Liquid Simulation" is on? Also make sure collide and selfCollide is off on the particle shape. Another possibility is the ForceField attributes on the particle shape or potentially the emitting object( if it is a nucleus nRigid object ). Also any pushout on an nRigid will have an effect even if collisions are off.

Thanks Duncan. The liquid simulation button was on.
Is that on by default?

It is on for particles created with the "water" style. The liquid simulation uses a smooth particle hydrodynamics technique, which appears a little like self collision, but has significantly different behavior.
