View Full Version : Cinema 4D realism..
How far can you go with Cinema 4D :)
Post the most realistic images you've ever seen made with Cinema 4D here and we can discuss the settings and such.
Here are my 2 favorites:

Probably my two best realism images, although almost everything I make is an attempt for realism.

I have the rc car as a wallpaper 640x480 spread out at 1024x768 which makes it look like a photo (bit out of focus).
The telescope was done with XL7 and rendered with way too low GI settings. By coincidence I did some PS touchup (hue/sat/brightn/contrast, nothing more) and got a much more realistic result :p.

Hi Aros -
I think you should name the artists who made the first 2 pics.
credit where credit is due. my only real realism consisted of gray balls. lol

handige_harrie: the 1st one is seriously badass, can I view a basic setup of your lighting? I can never get the shadows right, and yours rule.
madrabbit: Whoa those textures are unreal, I myself would throw away the guitar if it looked like that (irl) :D
modestmouse: That's one piece of crazy modelling!
pit: I edited my post, thanks for noticing my sloppyness.
ThirdEye_01: I'd be really really interested seeing your Lamborghini model in an environment.. Like outside with the sun shining.
Thanx ThirdEye_01 and Claudio72 for those names :wavey:
Anyway keep em comming, this is really interesting :)

Hey Srtat, is your photo a joke?
The whole scene or part of that was created in C4D?

Pardon I wanted to write picture instead of photo, but the impression on my sublime resulted me to perceive it as a photo

Most of that city pic is a photo - only those white, round skycrappers on the left side of the images are made with cinema and composited in. There has been a thread about this in the gallery. But yes, it looks extremly realistic

me messing around a couple of years ago with cinema v7 and a laptop (one of the first things i did with cinema when i first tried it out), the lighting in the bottom one is all reflected, no lights in the scene, not even radiosity used. textures are fascinating stuff... of course blurry reflection is a killer.

edit: i should say it was the surprising ease, and the enjoyability factor of being able to do this kind of stuff in Cinema that made me decide that cinema was the one for me :D i'd been using other apps, and somehow they'd never been as instant... with cinema it's like how do you not produce a good render? the engine does it all for you!

Well thanks :)
4 lights, two with soft shadows. Stochastic radiosity (100% - depth=1 - samples=24)

the pigeon is good, but it looks more like a plastic garden model or something ;)
but the environment you've modelled is superb :)
