It looks you have pretty solid animation skills. I especially liked the spaceship scene.
The characters had their own personality. Good job.
Good luck on the job hunt!

Good animation from start to finish
The first clip works well, i like the idea! although the first time i watched it my brain didn't realize he left the floor and he looked like he was ice skating :P but that's due to the lack of shadows rather than an animation flaw.
second clip was ace i liked it!
the third clip with the "Head?" maybe its just me but i couldn't tell what it was at first but the animation works well
in the final clip, the animation was a bit "spontaneous?" he goes from being happy at the wheel to being angry with nothing between or warning to the viewer that something is going to happen, and at the end after the word "chicken" the animation is a bit random!
I say all that in the best way,
I would love to have some finished work like yours or attended animation mentor. best of luck on the job hunt.
Good Luck!

Great Reel.
Only two things come to my attention. In the First short, when he initially stumbles around on take off, it seemed really odd that he would shoot forward from the force then immediately reverse direction. The action felt disconnected from the implied force.
And in the last space scene, it seemed over acted, but thats likely the point as that movie is overly dramatic for comedic sense.
Top notch through and through. The Take when the character lifts the lid off the dish is fantastic. And the Kingdom of Heaven was great character acting.

reels looking good. if i had to critique something i would, and ive gotten this advice from recruiters:
only take your fav pieces from your short film and put it in the main reel, then at the end of the reel (after your other AM stuff) put "short film" and slap on the whole thing.
the recruiter/leads/hiring people will only spend a minute looking until they pop the dvd out of the drive so you really need to get in alllll your good stuff, and your dialogues are good and your pantomime is good too so get that in there asap THEN put the short at the end, so if they like it ENOUGH, they'll sit through it to see the rest.
if you do those things (rearrange) i think you'll have a solid reel to get game/film job

You've got some great shots in there. :) Congrats on Graduating AM! I'm curious, did you do any prior schooling before AM?

Hey phantomworkshop,
Sorry for such a late response. Have been tied up at work a lot. Thank you though for looking at my reel and commenting. It means a lot to me to always hear from others. I did go to another school to study art and animation, but to be perfectly honest, I never received the type of education that i did at Animation Mentor. I learned a lot of basics as far as art and animation go and for sure it was valuable to have, but most of my skills I developed while at AM. So i hope it shows in my work.
Thanks again for stopping by, and thanks in advance to anyone else that takes the time to look.

nice work dave!
your first and last pieces on the reel are your strongest.
love the short. you could polish the character animation a bit more though. Like when he jumps back from the table you could loosen him up a lot more. both feet seem to hit the ground at the same time etc. just offset parts of the body ...
Nice work when he is struggling to put the pack on :)
well done!

HI Limmy,
Thanks alot for stopping by and checking out my work. Awesome to hear that you liked some of my shots and even had some suggestions for others. I agree now that i look back at some of my older work, that off-setting the feet just a little would make the fall that much more effective. Great call man thanks...
