Hello everyone, :)
Here is the TV commercial "Through History" we made at Aokistudio in japan.
We used the same base technique as we used for -->RIBA rendering (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=30&t=125093).
A mix between traditionnal medium with water painting, compositing and Paint effect toon lines. All characters are animated in 3D.
The first creative challenge was to use as reference an old Chinese painting and find a new style between different Chinese styles to show various scenes (nature, people, village…). The main technical challenge was to use the paint effect tools with Maya for very big scenes with a lot of 3D characters.”
