Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Chayanin On-ma

For the ?Steam Punk? challenge, I have chosen the ?Prakanesh? concept. Phrakanesh is one of the gods in the belief of Hinduism. He is known as ?The God of Success? and ?The God of Art?
The scene I chose to design shows Phrakanesh when he was in charge to guard the door to his mothers bathing room. His mothers name is Parawadee but also known as Uma. Phrakanesh was not allowed to let anyone in while she was bathing. All of a sudden Siva appeared. He is Prakaneshs father. Neither of them knew about that fact though. They even haven?t seen each other before. Siva tried to get into the room and that is when the fight took place. Siva became so angry that he threw his axe to break Phrakanesh?s ivory. This is one of the myths about the broken ivory of Phrakanesh. I took this scene because I like the idea that a son does everything to protect his family and in this case especially the mother.

I sketch concept 1.Background and 2. Phrakanesh Character .In the background image is door of bathroom of Parawadee and Parawadee are standing inside. The character of Phrakanesh is four arms and have weapon all the hand.

I draw Phrakanesh in my version and adaptation the dress to streampunk style (metal,leather,etc.)see the rope I adapt to the chain.I put the Rat as people believe in transport of Phrakanesh.
