View Full Version : What is with this? Weird zbrush bug

I've been using zbrush 3.1 a lot lately, and while I really like it, I've been getting 2 very annoying errors lately that have been keeping me from completing my projects. The first bug just totally baffles me as to what is going on, but it seems that when I try to rotate or move certain tools or subtools, parts of the mesh seem to not want to move along with the rest. I got a screen shot of what happened to a creature arm when I tried to rotate it...

The part of the mesh in the circle will always seems to be attracted to some point in the middle of the screen regardless of where I move the rest of it. It seems to do this quite often, though sometimes on some meshes it doesn't do it. Any ideas on what is going on here?

Also, I've been getting this ridiculous message every time I try to mirror a tool. I'm sure many of you have run into this before, and I am really surprised why this hasn't been fixed yet. Here is the message I get when I try to mirror anything:

I get this message even when I completely remove all subdivision levels!! WTF???

Any suggestions or advice would be a great help.

That usually means that a part of the model is still masked. Go to the masking section and clear it (make sure mask is not lit orange).

Hey thanks for the help Meats! That seemed to fix the problem!

P.S. You know how to change the workspace background color? I want an all black background instead of the black to grey gradient shade it has now. Can this be done?

Change the background gradient by going to the Document menu and playing around with the sliders for Range, Center, and Rate.
