View Full Version : Delay motion linked object
A bit of a technical dilema, what i wanna do is link one object to another, so they move and rotate together, but what i want is for one of the objects to delay it's motion, i have tried the reactor modifier, but no good so far, if you have any theories then let me know, dont matter how silly it may seem... Cheers..

Try going with the expression controllers instead of linking, you can assign it to get position, rotation and scale from the other object. Then you can dfine an offset for the frames.
Hope that helps,

Cheers man, thats the advice i just got from my forum, never used it before but it looks powerful, has anyone got any tutoriasl on how to use these expressions?
Does anybody know how exactly to delay the key frames using expressions??

Isn't this the same as spline IK?, 2 b honest, i hate using other people scripts and plugins, i cna never get them 2 work properly, if there is another way through wire parameters plz let me know
Neverwake, that script won't work on what i want to set up;
EG; 2 boxes ontop of each other, when the bottom box moves (Z) the top box moves ( Z) around 2 frames later, i'm guessing it's possible with wire parameters and a little script type thing like the bones curling?

Unless you're comfortable with using time-based expressions, you're better off with a script approach.

Point taken, i'v never done any sort of expression, but i'm working on a character which needs customization, i'l give the plugin a go.
