Hey guys! I put this on the discussion in the General Discusison forum, but this is pretty cool news. A Pixar employee at the Renderman forums confirmed that PRman for OS X will be announced around the time the G5 becomes available (August).

Here is the Scoop... I found This Story at MacCentral (http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/2003/06/25/renderman/) saying: Pixar Animation Studios is considering bringing RenderMan to Mac OS X. But, If your an existing customer, and you'd be interested in it your supposed to click on the EMAIL THEM LINK (rmanosx@pixar.com), and it automatically puts this ---->>> RenderMan for Mac Beta Program in your subject line of your email. And now we have this link (https://renderman.pixar.com/products/news/power_mac_G5.html) at Pixar (https://renderman.pixar.com/) about the G5. I think it's only a matter of time.

All I need now is Maya unlimited.

I would actually like to see XSI, and 3dsMax ported over as well. In case people that prefer those applications might like to see what OS X is all about.
It couldn't hurt?? The Apple IBM thing is looking pretty good right now. IBM, and Apple said those G5's are supposed to be up to 3GHz within 12 months, and IBM says it already has working prototypes of the next generation in this processor family. I think it's only the beginning, and this is the tip of the iceburg for these two.

I think you must have a look on the wwdc keynote video. They are showing quickly something called renderman ;)
