View Full Version : BATCH RENDER, no progress

been rendering the scene i've been working on with the Batch render. All lit with final gather and physical sun/sky + mia portal.

It took very long to render, which is fine since the final gather accuracy was high, like 1000, point density at 1.0, interpolation at 100.

But it still rendered just fine. Starting yesterday for some reason whenever i render it doesnt even say its making any progress in the script editor. I check the renderlog and after 15 minutes it's only at like 3.6 percent of 'Computing Final Gather Points'. than after hours and hours it gets to 100 and mayabatch render crashes. I am rendering to a .tga file

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Try to switch the FG off for a start. If it works, do a FG diagnose and see where the problem is exactly [ check Paplo's blog , Trix R 4 Kids for MR ].
My suggestion: lower the number of rays down to like 100 and crank the interpolation up and render the FG in a seperate pass.
