oh.. your link is not working...
But I have one suggestion when you go with SubD in Maya.
When you wanna mirror this and attach them, its not gonna work nicly. What you need to do is that convert the half into poygon in level 0 then delet whole the history.
Then do the mirror copy by DUPLICATE then you can attach them without problem.
I have played subD couple times, but what I have found was hard to handle it. And TOO SLOW.. T.T
I have also found a few people who love subD in Maya here, but I have no idea.

I ripped off the SubD base mesh, assigned a surface to it.
Deleted history, Mirrored it and now im here. Its poly smoothed now.. judging from others, i KNOW there is a way to make the seam go away..
anyone?

You might want to use the Match Topology in the SubD modeling menu set.
Your link did work, however cgtalk.com filters out curse words and you had one in your link. You should rename the file.
Also, check out these SubD related articles.

AvixCore,
Yes, there is an easy way to get rid of seams.
Go into proxy mode and combine the two pieces together. You might want to leave a little bit of space between each piece. Go to Polygons- > Combine.
Then use Edit Polygons- > Merge edges on the edges that are seperated.

What I need to ask you is that:
1) Have you merged the vertex which lined up at the middle of the charactor?
2) Have you checked out if the Normals are right?
I think those two issues are the most things that cause seem problem.
Check them out~
