Hi Forum,

at the moment I'm doing some illustrations for the new board game of my brother. This will be the "Tower" card. What do you think, C&C please.

Thanx in advance, cheers mnu

I like the pic, but a few crits.

1) Did you want the flag to fly at Half mast ?
2) If you are emphising(sp) the Tower aspect, you may want to make it Taller than the wall.
3) on the top left stone of the tower where is joins the one below it there is a squiggle that dosnt look like it belongs there.

Love the textures & grass

Great Texture on the rock under the castle.
Is it procedural? If so, I'd love to know how you did it:)

SWEET,
1. Make mineral deposits in the stone more apparent and make mineral lines coming from the outer hanging brick to enphacize that it is more weathered.
2. TOWER needs to be taller
3. Flag pole is half colored, make it more weathered looking. Gold tip rather than a yellowish one.
4. The FLag is odd looking, Make it more dramatic. One that says "I am the TOWER card".
5. Sqwigly on the upperleft brick Is Odd.
6. Chalk line, make it less pronounced!
7. Grass is really throwing me, some long repeating pieces and you have no deteriation inthe soil.
Other than that I think you have a real nice start here.

Looks very nice. The only thing that bugs me is that the tower has a support at it's bottom-left base but not one at the bottom-right. You'd really expect those sort of details to be symmetrical.

Thank you all, I'll try to improve it with your ideas in mind. It's funny, but while working on a scene you really loose the ability to "see" those things. So, you all are a big help for me. Currently I'm working on the "Temple" card. I'll update the thread as soon as this one is ready. Then I'll do the Tower improvements. Thanx again, cheers mnu.

P.S.: All ground texures are plain image files with some work in PS, of course.

nice yeah fix that squiggle, that has to be ps cause of the squiggle. try putting a squiggle in with SLA and you will go insane. Anyway love it really good if you do everything PGP said it will rock.

Very nice render.

I would say that IMO its missing a sense of scale. With the long blades of grass at the bottom, it feels like it might be only 10 feet tall. Maybe shortening the grass or adding a bit of atmospheric perspective (fog) to the height of the tower.

Also making the size of the individual blocks/bricks smaller will help.

I agree. I think the grass is too tall or the wall to short :)
