Hi there!

This is my second thread here, I hope this is the right place for my question (My first thread was the classic "Which 3d application should I use?"- question ;) ).

I study photography in Milan and have good photoshop skills but I haven't experience in 3d visualization.

As I wrote in the title, I'm especially interested in creating 3d environments (eventually landscapes) in 3d and combine them with photographs.

For example I want to create a wind tunnel like this one in 3d: http://www.a2wt.com/images/A2web/A2%20Wind%20Tunnel%20Test%20Section.JPG
and put a person (cyclist) in there.

Which software would you suggest?

I hope I've expressed myself understandable. If there are any doubts, do not hesitate to ask.

Greetings from Milan

Hi, well this would be similar as to which 3d app to use LOL! However, if you want to follow what is being done for alot of mat painting in studios, go with C4D, it includes bodypaint and you can set up a scene and use a special cylindrical baked output of the whole scene.

Another good app to look at and it is on sale right now is Modo.

Now, I'm sure others will prefer something else, but these are what I like to use. I don't do alot of what you are wanting to do, exactly, but I have had to render and composite into photos.

I would say that you could probably use any 3D program but C4D works really well at making scenes. I have that 3DS Max and I like C4D more for creating and rendering scenes.

Now if you mean natural environments with plants, I would really suggest Vue 7 xStream.
It creates amazing foliage, try out the PLE.
If you mean just environments in general, well any 3D software could do this.
