CGTalk - Solid light?

I am working with a spotlight and the cones. I was trying to get the light to be solid but it stays transparent. What am I doing wrong?

do you mean you want volume for the light? i am confuesed by "solid" that what you mean. you just turn it on under ...nuts maya aint open on my computer, but there is a setting for "fog" "volume"? its something like that.

I think u mean VolumeFog.

Select your lamp. Press Ctrl+A and go to the Light Effect menu.
Now click on the butten behind the first textfield (LightFog)

When you now render you will see a solid light beem. You can tweak the appearance to costumize the effect.
