View Full Version : Help with vray
vishsm 01-07-2009, 03:22 AM Hi guys I'm in need of some advice with my vray render scene. I want to create something more realistic and more sharp but I'm unable to do so in without using too much render time. Also how do I emove these pesky black shadows all over the place?

I'm afraid it's due to low renderer settings. You could also try to increase the light subdivision, but it will also lengthen the time needed to render.

No no no! First disable sampling filter, see what happens.

Use adaptive DMC to save on render time. you can keep your DMC subdivisions around 1 and 8, then play around with the color threshold. Uncheck the box under color threshold in the adaptive DMC pannel. The larger the threshold number, the worse quality, but fast your render is. Speed vs quality. I usually set a color thresh # of .005 for high quality, and .01 for medium range stuff. Also your GI engine is most likely causing the noise shadows. Try using Brute force and Light cache as your #1 and #2 GI engines. You might be able to get away with just light cache as primary, but if your DMC settings are optimized it will render a lot faster either way you go with your GI sollution.
