View Full Version : 3DS Max 5 error on startup

I just received a trial version of 3DS Max 5.1 from Discreet. It seemed to install fine, but every time I start it up, I get an error that basically says "Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid." Then it gives me the option to close the application or ignore the problem and go on. When I ignore it, it seems to work fine.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Or is this just happening because it's a trial version and wouldn't happen when/if I buy the software? Any help would be appreciated. It's not a big problem, just annoying.

I am running Windows 2000 w/Service Pack 3.

Thanks!

Hmm... I can't promise you anything but have a look at the link below.

Another option would be to try a repair with your win2k disc.

hope this helps,
