View Full Version : Need help!!! UV's are apparently missing
Undseth 06-24-2003, 01:19 AM I had some memory issues, and was left with a polygon mesh eventually. The mesh was saved. It has a transform node and a shape node.
I threw a shader on it and looks ok.
I can move the vertices on the mesh, but...
The UV counter shows "0" UV's !?!
I discovered it, as I could not use the split polygon tool on the mesh.
I guess this has something to do with the "missing" uv's.
What kind of problem do I have??
Can I fix it?

Try exporting the model as dxf or obj and re-importing it

Here's what I did...
I exported it as .obj, and it did not work... but it only took a minute to figure it out...
Then, I exported it as .dxf, and waited forever for my machine to finish its number crunching... Finally, I imported it, and after an hour I concluded it did not work...
But then I just tried something out.
I simply selected the object and applied a mapping method, and voila it seemed to work. I got my UV's back, and the cut faces tool worked.
Yay!

Glad you have your UV back.
The reason you don't have UVs is your UV set is empty.
If the UV data is none, exporting object and importing it back won't work. Nothing to export means nothing to import back.
As soon as you do any mapping on the object, it will create new UV for you. And maybe the cut face tools need this UV data to work.
