hi
i have a wierd problem with mental ray, my scene renders ok, but for some reason most objects that slant towards horizontal have jagged edges, so i thought it must be an anti aliasing problem, but i have now spent some time messing around with various anti aliasing settings with no improvements. upon a closer look, this problem doesnt have this problem at all with verticle objects !!. i have also changed various setting with the perspective cam this also made no difference !!.
i also notce the problem seems to get worse on distant abjects & towards the middle of the scene !!.
can any one offer any advice please ?
thanks.

Might be worth posting image(s) & render settings, if possible.

thanks for the reply
ok udate
when i press the render single image, it renders, & thats the image with the horizontal lines making horizontal edges appear a little sawtoothed.
i then did a sample mental ray batch render, & problem gone, batch render came out perfect,
no lines what so ever.
so im please to say i can render good images, but on the single image render button still produces poorer quality renders. not sure why this happens as i have tried useing the same settings on single renders & batch renders.

When you say "single image" do you mean in the render-view window? If yes, then are you sure that you have the zoom set to 1:1? Even if you have, try dragging the edge to enlarge it a tiny bit horizontally.

That's what I was just thinking. I've noticed that even at 1:1 it occasionally uses a little interpolation causing aliasing here and there.

Might be worth saving the image from render view and viewing it 100% in an external viewer.
