Be careful of using Trillian, as apparently I was the cause of a major hack attack on our servers at work. And they hackers suppossedly used my Trillian program to get in. I am no expert in firewalls and corporate Inforamtion Systems, but I thought I would warn you anyway.

to Trillian users:

I keep getting this notice from MSN that I need to upgrade messenger, but, of course, I'm using Trillian and so I can't. What's the deal? Anyone know what's going on?

Microsoft just released MSN 6 (which has a whole lot of nice features and a whole lot of junk wasting space) Trillian's MSN was designed around the previous version of MSN so when it connects its not apable of any of the new features which is why the message pops up. Trillian will need to release a patch to fix that.

Are you using 0.74? Pro doesn't do this.

I remember this post, not that long ago, but I've come a far way since it, partly because of CGTalk, and partly my own never ending lust for learning. Could I just give some friendly advice, that putting your email address in a forum page like this (or any other publicly accessible web page) will result in you being inundated with spam! Thousands of spam bots travel around the web looking for, and sucking up email addresses, and that's how 99% of spammers get your email address now days. That's why forums like this keep your registered email address hidden.

If you must give out your email addy encode it in some way, such as, me a*tt hotmail do*tt com. Put the "*" in and extra letters, as spam bots are getting clever enough to read 'me at hotmail dot com' style encryptions now.

I don't mean to put a downer on this thread or be a party pooper, but I should imagine those who started it have long since changed their email addresses due to the amount of spam they would have attracted, which kind of makes this thread pointless now, as most of the email addresses are probably now dead.
