Greetings and salutations.
I teach at a college, and we are switching from 3ds Max to Maya 2009. This is great, except that we do not know how to handle the rendering. Previously it was set up with Backburner, so students could render projects in queues, etc. Unfortunately there seem such a bewildering array of 3rd party render options for Maya that I am at a loss.
We have about 60 machines, maybe a little more, that are available for rendering and we need to have a system to queue renders. I know people continually ask about Maya network renderers, and I have scoured forums looking for answers, but although I now have a list of products, the information I've found is a little contradictory.
Does anyone have any new insights about Maya 2009 network rendering managers? Although I know Maya, I have limited technical know-how about networks, and the network manager does not know Maya at all - he is used to Backburner for 3ds Max.
I guess there is no magic solution, but if someone can help, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jonathan
