View Full Version : First Time Ever Doing a Character in Maya
rickmann 06-23-2003, 09:39 PM This is my first time ever doing a character in 3d. This is suppose to be a toy monkey so he is plastic and has no fur. Please give me all the critique you can possible give me to make this better. Should I had fur? Should I change the color? Should I give up all together and go work at McDonalds serving fries for the rest of my life?
You tell me.... Please!!!

Well, I don't know entirely what you're going for, but if you're going for a yellow, tin monkey then you're spot on. For what it is, it's good, but I don't know what you're going for, so I don't know... yeah... that doesn't make sense...

Yeah actually I am going for a toy monkey but with more of a plastic look. I actually have one at home... thats where I got thew idea from. I have had this little toy for about 5 years now. And since I am starting to get into animation I figured I would model him and animate him.... I mean thats not a bad thing is it? I mean modeling a toy that I already have.... I mean I have others that I plan to do here soon for my demo reel. Thats not a bad thing is it??
Thanks alot!!!
