View Full Version : XPresso: extracting render ratio?
brammelo 06-23-2003, 09:05 PM Hi guys,
I need to use the image ratio (as defined in the render settings, like 4:3 or 16:9) in XPresso. How can I get them into the XPresso editor?
Without a doubt a stooopid question, but hey, no-one ever said I was smart ;-)
Cheers,
BaRa

Hi,
This seems impossible now if you use usual XPresso node. For post effects, you could relate parameters to each other, such as Motion Blur Strength, using Set Driver and Set Driven commands, but no such ways may be given for other render settings. Only way is to use COFFEE node, in which you could extract parameters such as resolutions from the RenderData class.
hope this helps.:)

Well yes, it helps, but my COFFEE isn't strong enough (pun intended). So I guess I'll have to find some less automated way.
What I was trying to do is fit a background plane (linked to a camera) automatically to the resolution of the image assigned to that plane. And that resolution has also to drive the resolution of the camera (I don't want to have a higher resolution than the background image).
Guess I'll have to switch to Maya ;-)
Thanks a ton!
Kind regards,
BaRa
