Hey Kieron, hows things mate? You can chuck good ol George of the Jungle 2 in there, I ended up doing a lot more of the complex particle effects in max 3.1 as Maya's shaders were having a hard time replicating the quality needed from the director for doing a few really complicated (4+ million particles) smoke shots. As well as some procedural over the top bird poop.
2002 there's also good ol Seconds to Spare with Kimberly Davies and Antonia Sovado Jr. Lots of CG fire, explosions, rocket smoke, bombs, shockwaves, you name it. (oh man I really need to work on some real movies for once)
Shoot me please

"The Core" had lots of MAX work in it. The opening titles (former Blur guy Juan Granja), the crystal cavern (99% MAX at Frantic Films) and most of the effects animation elements for the Bridge sequence (myself at Computer Cafe).

thanks Makkbru, I've got most of that list on mine (another update is coming soon), I do prefer to get more information about what was actually done rather than just a list of films but thats the tricky bit ;)
Hi Pete, hey anytime
Cheers,
Kieron

I love how everyone gets annoyed when people try to compare software...
then we get pages dedicated to show when Max was used in film.....:wip:
Im inspired to start a web page on how many movies have Electric Image used in them....
At least ILM uses that software

Couldn't see any mention of Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course. The Satelite, planet earth from orbit, sparks & all the other 3d in the film were done in Max.
See:

I think the intention was more about dispelling the myth that MAX is for games only.

indeed Brandon, when I did the list there was just about nothing on the web about what had been done & it was about changing that perception.

Hey I'd kinda like to see one on Electric Image

well i guess you at least can put thru the moebius stip on the list... its animated...:-).... (not often max is used in animated films, so its worth mentioning)
http://www.3dgate.com/techniques/2001/010205/0205moebius.html
im relly looking forward to that movie... i love moebius... he is mainly making commics, but he had his fingers into the conseptual design in films like 5th element and tron(and we can only hope the animations will get just as good as in that:D )

Kieronh, it was most definatly all done in max, (but rendered in PRMan).
makkbru, I havn't heard anything about through the moebius stip for a long time, is it still in production?
