This is my latest piece from Photoshop. It's a composition piece from a photo of rare Parrot flowers (actual plant), which I painted over on Photoshop and added a fairy. I wanted to give a feel of exotic plants and flowers where you'd expect a fairy to be or live, and have one actually be there.
Getting just the right brushes for the fairy trail effect took some effort and several attemps to get the brush strokes just right. For the type of critique I want, I guess I would like to know the general opinion of this peice.
This was part of set of projects meant to pick subjects I rarely or never do, and this was my second favorite, although it was a close second. I intend to do more winged creatures in the future. But I tell you, making the fairy wings was difficult, especially at the angle she's positioned.
There was no model for the fairy, but a reference image was used to get her basic body shape. Using Photoshop is a lot of fun for such techniques. Does anyone have anything to add or say? I'd love some feedback. It would feel strange coming up with a piece of work and have nobody say anything about it.
