just got back into illustrating on the computer after 5 years off. picked up a wacom bamboo and did this one up today (http://scottfro.net/art/beach16.jpg) (bigger image). not quite done but getting there.

A bit too much empty space in the center of your canvas ~ It looks like an advert background waiting for the main copy.

Other than that, this is a very bright and well done start. Good patterning with the turtle, rock, and opening...

thanks for your thoughts. i agree that the middle is empty. i am debating taking out the boat and figuring out something else to do with the middle. any ideas?

Like everything in Life, it depends...

What's the focus here, and why?
Turtle? Bring the POV to his level, up close and personal, looking around.
The beach? Everything else is too dominant.
The Rocks? Too far apart, no visual connection beyond the giant empty sea center...

Only YOU can prevent focus mires...;)
