Hi, so I have a question.
It's hard to explain so I made picture with it.

http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/6403/helprd6.jpg

What I want is to make my desaturated picture(the one to the right) skin get the same color as the original skin tone (left).

So I made a mask on the face and fingers, played around with "hue/Saturation" without touching the Value(lightness). And I got this result.

A, Z and X are my result. And Z was very accurate to the orginal picture.

B, Z and Y are the colour picker tool selected colours from the face of the orginial.

But the thing is that I can't make A and B match or X and Y.
A is more black than B(original). And A got more saturation than B(original).

And X is less black than Y(original). And X got more saturation then Y(orgininal).

I'm sorry if i'm talking like a crazy man, but my final question is...how in the world am i going to create the correct colour (AZX to BZY) by using Hue/Saturation?
Do I have to use other tools? Because if I use Color Balance, it will effect all of the colors in AZX even when i ONLY choose Shadows in Tone Balance, the midtones and highlights still gets effected when I change the Shadows!
Help!

I would try using the 'Selective Colour' feature, and add more yellow to the 'neutrals' input, for the skin tone matching. (selecting the face first) It's a really flexible way to correct your colours, it just takes some experimenting with. Hope it helps somewhat!

So basically you are trying to desaturate everything but the skin?

Duplicate the original two times. Desaturate the second duplicate, then place the third unaffected duplicate on top of this and mask out everything but the skin areas.
