in one thread your advertising it, in another your saying your not selling it. which is it?
Kai - he says nobody wants to buy it at ebay. He´s trying to sell it.

Hey, that's my auction, and YES, it is 100% LEGAL! :) I'm moving on to update my LEGAL copy of 3DSMAX 4.2 to version 5. That's why I'm selling it. :)

Hiya,
Ok, how do i say this ?
I am a new member so i don't know what topics have been written in the last year or so.
I have posted 2 topics which ask a question.
The first reply i get is do a " SEARCH" which is annoying ,even though you might think you are helping.
The purpose of topic with a question is for people to reply.
If i ask a questions,am i going to be told to do a search on it all the time?
Is it normal for people here to completely change subject in one's topic?
I left 3D Buzz.com to learn my new Cinema 4D XL R8.1 Bundle and ask questions here about it all and the users.
There was a topic about elitetism here in the past week towards new members. It makes me wonder if i am wrong.
:annoyed:

I can understand a bit of frustration, but I'm confused how people never get results in their searches. I did a search on this specific subject and the old thread came second on the list under this one. How do you do your searches.
Reason we often say do a search, is because we know its a topic thats been covered extensibely. for instance, ask how to do rust, I'll reply, ask how to do glass, and depending on the time I have at the moment, I"ll tell one of three things. either a link to the old discussion thread, suggest to check the material thread in the resources subforum since I know its linked there, or say do a search, since there is a huge, and I mean husge thread about making realistic glass in C4d, I don't see why we should all be wasting time repeating when the answers are there for yu no waiting for replies needed. thats why we recommend searches. You notice I don't post a lot of questions, even back in my postforum days i didn't post too many questions, because I discobvered, half the things have been covered already do a search and get instant answers.

theres the previous thread. How'd I find it? I went to the search link. My keyword: VERSION, I then selected search by title, sinc ei figured if they asked about what version, they'd use it in the title, as you did. Click on the search forum dropdown, found the C4d forum, cause I dont' care waht version of LW or what version of some game in general discussion was talked about I want to know what was talked about in C4D. I hit search and this was my results
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68328&highlight=version
So we aren't trying to be elitist, we are trying to save everyone time, save you from having to wait for responses, get a nice thorough answer nice and fast, and save everyone from having to post or vote over again. Same with a question on glass, rather then try repeating half of what was covered in that awesome glass thread (half because I"d forget half for sure, and wouldn't have time to type everything anyways) so you'd be getting less informatin, and waiting for me to read and type a response.
So again, not trying to be elitist, but search first, ask second.

Thanks for your typing time Kaiskai.
I get the jist of what you are saying but i am not use to looking for previous topics.
I am the kinda guy who makes topics for people to reply to and help others.
I have made between 500-900 topics in the last 3 years covering a wide range of issues.
Every other forum site, 3D Buzz ect,. where i asked questions i have got the answers.
I guess there's no point making topics without searching first.
I am a creative like everyone here, but i do love making interesting conversational topics as well as 3DG,Dance Music, and stuff.
Cheers for your time mate

I understand what you're saying Scott, but from another perspective, it shows a lack of effort on your part not to look for the answer to your question before you ask it. Great if you want to start interesting threads, but if it's something that's been covered 100 times in the last 3 months it's only interesting to you.
btw, which is better, Cinema or Lightwave? ;)
Hi Scott,
I am using Cinema 4D r8.1 (the basic version :( ) but i will upgrade with modules in due time.
For the search before asking questions seems to be the logical way when you are new to a forum since alot of the same questions tends to be ask again.

hello =)
first post at these forums (which seem to be the kind i´ve been looking for) and i think this thread might be a good starting point.
i´m 34, from germany, graphics designer and web developer and have been "toying" around with 3D for quiete a while now without having had time to dig in deeper ... yet.
btw: i´m using Cinema 4D XL 7.3 right now, placed an order for XL 8 with bodypaint ... aah, anticipation =)
cheers, me
Hey Scott,
I bought R8.1 Studio the other day. Should have received it yesterday but someone goofed in the shipping dept. It's cool though, they're sending a free t-shirt for the mixup. If only I couldve talked them into throwing in the new training DVD they just got in :D

That is so funny to get an anwser like that. first of all it start a flame wars on what is the best.
Its not the software that is good, its the one using it that make a difference.
Lol anobrin last time you made comments like that a certain thread (started by me) had to be closed. Lets stay away from all that. There isn't a single LW user who can get all jiggy over pupis 3D. He is as good as they get and if he used LW he would not be any better.
Well I am not pupi but... I think this is probibly true.
