Noob at texturing/materials/shaders.
Mental Ray and Masking a decal onto editable Mesh or Poly (in Max 2009). I have just done a tutorial by Rick Timmons on how to use 2 Mental Ray "Shaders" DMS and GPP (http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials_3/making_of_water_glasses/makign_of_water_glasses01.asp)to make a glass with water in it. Being new to this I am happy with the result and would like to create something of my own scene my problem is applying writing to the Coke bottle.
I would like to apply a mask to the Coke bottle with white writing on the decal, so I have a photoshop file with a clear background and a layer with a black border (alpha) around white writing.
Are there ways to do this, I have tried approx 10 variations so far, with no luck, I can get glass and a decal in the viewport but the render is either glass and no decal or smooth shaded default mat and a decal.
