I having a problem with multi-res.

Heres my layout

Physique
Editmesh(attach head)
Morpher
Multi-Res
Edit mesh (head)

I lower my poly count to speed up time to (sigh) controling the vertices in physique much faster. But when I turn off Multi res (to go back to hi poly) some of the worked on points within the mesh arent connected anymore?!?if anyone can help me with this it would help me out a lot.

You can't do that...

Physique works at the vertex level(for the most part), and if you change the vertex count, Physique will go bonkers because it's operating with the notion that everything under it is stable, ie, not changing topologically.

Multi-res was intended to go OVER vertex level creation and animation parameters.

Morpher and that attached head you've got going are probably what's slowing Physique down to begin with. Try turning off morpher until you are ready to animate and you should see an increase in speed...a bit.

You know what. Thats correct. Plus i just figured it out.

Meshsmooth
Physique
Edit Mesh
Morpher
Edit Mesh

This for now seems to be the easiest way to work, i didnt think to use my original low poly model, I ve been working backwards, using the hi poly meshsmooth model to physique instead and thats why things are working very slow. Dopey me. Thanks for your help.

There you go!

Don't worry, it's a VERY common mistake. But now I bet it's a million times easier! Hehe.

A good rule of thumb is to have your stack look exactly like what you've got.

Good luck!
