Alright, I originally posted this in the Final Gallery forum, but then I realized it still needed work, so here it is:

First off, I'm gonna redo the scope and its attachments, they're not very accurate. Also, the rail on the top has pretty hard edges, so I'm gonna try and redo that too. Also, I know the bullets look like they're floating, their shadows didn't really turn out. Lastly, does the muzzle look too big?

Made in Maya 5.0
Rendered in Mental Ray
Render time: 5:36 (ouch, I know, it's that noisy specularity map, I need to make a file texture version of that...)

Anyway, I hope you like it, but if you don't, at least tell me why :).

Comments/crit appreciated.

did you have a spec picture you looked at to make this model? i assume you do but most of the pictures ive seen have barrels a little longer. it IS a little big too. The ammo clip needs work to make it believable, maybe not so silver and shinny. look at the h&k website for barrel and ammo clip ideas. other than what youve said, its a decent model.

I play alot of CS, so I download skins all the time. In fact, I love H&K skins. But onto the point...
The gun looks a tad bit unrealistic.
The rail looks kind of flat.
Try to add more details/better textures.
Yes, the muzzle is kind of fat.
According to the picutre attached, the muzzle is actually quite different.

But still, great model, hope to see great improvements in the near future!

That image you've attached is actually the regular G36. The rifle I'm making is the G36-C, the compact version (there is also a G36-K, which isn't as compact as the C, but more compact than the regular).

Ya, I'm gonna redo the rail. It's definitely still a WIP, I'm gonna do some more work on the texturing.

The muzzle is as of now fixed, but I haven't rerendered it yet. Re tiger dragon's tip, I've made the clip less reflective and more transparent, like the real one.

Thanks for the tips, I'll post a new render with these adjustments as soon as I can.

Redid a lot of the detail here, only thing I need to add (I think, I'm posting it here cause I'm not sure :p) is the rear sight, but I can't find a good picture of it anywhere, so I don't know how long it will be before I do it.

Anyway, the render time was around 13 hrs (a pointlight will absolutely destroy render times if used with the FG settings I'm using)

C&C away

Been workin on some of the shaders and lighting recently. I really want some C&C this time (be as harsh as you want)... Oh well .

Anyway, here's the render:
