The Garuda (Sanskrit: Garu?a ????, eagle; P?li Garu?a) is a large mythical bird or bird-like creature that appears in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

In Hindu mythology, a Garuda is a lesser Hindu divinity, usually the mount (vahanam) of Vishnu. Garuda is depicted as having a golden body, white face, red wings, and an eagle's beak, but with a strong man's body. He wears a crown on his head. He is ancient and has size enough to block out the sun.

His stature in Hindu religion can be gauged by the fact that an independent Upanishad, the Garudopanidad, and a Purana, the Garuda Purana, is devoted to him. Various names have been attributed to Garuda - Chirada, Gaganeshvara, Kamayusha, Kashyapi, Khageshvara, Nagantaka, Sitanana, Sudhahara, Suparna, Tarkshya, Vainateya, Vishnuratha and others. The Vedas provide the earliest reference of Garuda, though by the name of ?yena, where this mighty bird is said to have brought nectar to earth from heaven. The Puranas, which came into existence much later, mention Garuda as doing the same thing, which indicates that ?yena (Sanskrit for Eagle) and Garuda are the same. One of the faces of ?r? Pañcamukha Hanuman is Mahavira Garuda. This face points towards the west. Worship of Garuda is believed to remove the effects of poisons from one's body. In Tamil Vaishnavism Garuda and Hanuman are known as "Periya Thiruvadi" and "Siriya Thiruvadi" respectively.

Garuda is the enemy of the snake(naga), and kadru(devangari) is the mother of snake.

I try to make the steampunk garuda and steampunk devanagari fight in the air with garuda's claw holds devanagari body and his hands is ready to hit devanagari.

i'm still looking for the good angle, please for the critics.

i try to refining the shape and texture it with gold shading on the armour, and crown. i also adding some traditional hindu's motif on the armour and indonesian batik pattern on the cloth.

eagle claw and a steampunk leg. i use medieval armory at the thigh, and hindus ornament at the knee.

at last i finished the wing. now starting the kadru snake. i start with a bronze like metal for the snake.

already made the kadru, finishing its head. and sketch some detail to make the garuda more steampunk, like more pipe, valve, gears, and steam chimney.
