View Full Version : AE / PPro Plugins - Duplicates etc... Losing the will to composite :-D

Hi everyone,

I am having some problems installing some of my plugins into AE and PPro CS3 (Windows XP).

By default, PPro plugins seem to want to install into "common\plug-ins\CS3\Mediacore", which is fine for PPro, but then they also load up in AE, and if I have AE specific versions of these plugins in the AE folder (which I do for some) I get a duplicate plugins error.

I was under the impression that PPro plugins did not work in AE (and vice versa) - and have bought several plugins for both versions.

Am I missing something obvious? Why do PPro plugs want to install in common by default?

If you are talking about Red Giant plugins - this is their mistake. I've been trying to talk some sense into them for god knows how long, but they refuse to change it. Still, nothing stops you from moving your plugins into Premiere's native plugin folder (Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS3\Plugins\Cpommon), does it not? If you have the specially adjusted versions, this would be the proper way.
