View Full Version : Help, cant import Maya-rendered files

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've recently encountered this problem when importing Maya's batch-rendered images (ex: scene1.png.1 ~ scene1.png.240) into my After Effects CS3. I get this error:

After Effects: AEGP Plugin AAF: Error occurred while creating project.
(5027 :: 12)

I can upload single .tif or .png files just fine, but I somehow I lost the ability to multiple-import the files. :/

Any suggestions? Your help would be truly appreciated.

as far as i know you should have your naming convention as "scene1.001.png" and not "scene1.png.001"

Indeed. The UNIX-style file naming is not really supported by normal Windows applications (not AE's fault, Microsoft's). Mangling your files through fcheck or a simple command line rename should avoid the issue.

I'm sorry, what's fcheck and that command line rename? I'm really new to that kind of stuff, pardon for sounding a bit lacking.

open your sequence in fcheck and save it with the proper name.
fcheck it's an image viewer app that comes with maya. It let's open sequences and rename it in a batch fashion.

Glad we could help. Just make sure to use suitable sequence naming in Maya from the start next time...
