View Full Version : Deino Tex WIP 1
Katachi 06-22-2003, 06:05 PM Hi,
this is a first rendering of the Deino texture WIP. (please donīt hit me, but I really forgot to model the teeth and tongue...will add them later)
I first have gone a brown texture way, but that looked a bit boring so I tried a more grey-blue-green-brownish way and I like it better. :)
Still some work to do but itīs worth showing imo.
Hope you still like it... :surprised
(And yes, I decided to animate him at least a little bit :wip: )

P.S.: Crawls still in the main texture. Will be textured seperately later on...

Coming along nicely, Samir. As you stated, thereīs still some work to be done - guess you meant the pretty obvious seams at the tail, shoulder etc. too - but it looks cool already. Do you plan on doing an enviroment for the little fellow?

yep, seams are due to bodypaint (itīs an old problem of BP related to UVW data). Will be fixed at the end of texturing.
Environment, sure! :)

Looking good. I should have commented on it ealier becasue it's a modeling comment, but I'm not crazy about the skin wrinkles in the neck. I think they're a little much. Maybe under the jaw in the throught area, but not so much around the neck.
Wow! awesome work d00d! It really looks very good indeed! Again, the folds in the neck.. awesome!

Hi folks,
wow! Thanks very much for the positive comments. I try to improve the bump and will hopefully get to animate him later. :)
And the folds, well, I like them too so they will stay ;)
Hey Samir! I'm also working on a raptor!

Hi Teg,
very nice! The movements and weight still needs some work but apart from that I like it.
But he is in need of some teeth too :D
Keep us updated Eric.

P.S.: Mine is not a raptor :)

How about a screen shot of the UV map? How did you do that, just map one body part at a time?

I will post a screen of the uvmap in some minutes. I am currently baking a texture and loading the scene would kill the process for the textures are 3000 x 6000 and cinema 4d needs quite a while to load the scene (about 5 - 10 minutes...I really need a new computer  ). Thatīs also why I cannot work as fast as I want, for saving textures takes ages too etc... I already ordered a new machine with 1 Gig of RAM. That will surely avoid such problems in the future (and another gig will follow :).
But yes, I mapped almost all parts seperately (thatīs also the reason why there are seams at the ends of some bodyparts). That gives *me* most control and avoids any texture errors that might occur (well except the seams :D ).
