Hi everyone. Hands are very difficult for me and I figured they're as good a thing to study as anything, so.... :)

Its modeled in Wings and I want to bring it over to Maya and try to rig and texture it. Would this be very difficult to rig?

Crits welcome

hoi and welcome to cgtalk :)

you asked for crits....there you go ^^

1) the thumb is way too short compared to the fingers

2) its joint (where it is connected to the palm) its too far back

3) the two lines running cross the palm arent carving the bulge opposite the thumb (damn i should have been listening during english lessons instead of drawing :D hard to express what i mean...hope you get it :))

looks nice tho...keep goin :)

that is so much better than anything I could do. seriously, I can do anything but hands escape me.

To answer your question though, rigging hands is relatively easy....but maybe its just me. I doubt you'll have any problem at all rigging a hand

sone_one: :lightbulb You are right, the thumb needs some major fixin'. I'll work on that. However you lost me with this: 3) the two lines running cross the palm arent carving the bulge opposite the thumb (damn i should have been listening during english lessons instead of drawing hard to express what i mean...hope you get it )
? :surprised ?

polygun: Good to know! :)
