find all doc but i can't find about how to define -scattering f f f
-diffusemeanfreepath f f f
i looked doc example to render sss.
when he render point cloud.. he was defined
-albedo 0.830 0.791 0.753 -diffusemeanfreepath 8.51 5.57 3.95
and another
-scattering 2.19 2.62 3.00 -absorption 0.0021 0.0041 0.0071

in command line i type "ptfilter /?" then system to reply those message...
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ptfilter /?
usage: ptfilter -filter f [options] inputfile(s) outputfile
where f can be one of:
photonmap
ssdiffusion
occlusion
colorbleeding
sort
and the options include:
-nphotons i
-material [apple|chicken1|chicken2|ketchup|marble|potato|skim milk|wholem
ilk|cream|skin1|skin2|spectralon]
-unitlength f (scene scale relative to mm -- for example, if scene units
are centimeters use -unitlength 0.1)
-scattering f f f
-absorption f f f
-albedo f f f (or: -albedo fromfile)
-diffusemeanfreepath f f f (or: -diffusemeanfreepath fromfile)
-ior f
-maxsolidangle f
-samplebase f
-bias f
-sides [front|back|both]
-clamp i (also allowed: -clampocclusion i or -clampbleeding i
-sortbleeding i
-clamp [0|1] (also allowed: -clampocclusion [0|1] or -clampbleeding [0

and my frist question is when i render sss shader how do i define skin coefficients such as
scattering value, absorption value, diffusemeanfreepath value, albedo value .need to test and test..........test.....!?

second question: what's the values type !? f f f
R G B ,or H S V ...not seems like

thank you..plz.

No, if I understand you correctly and you use physical sss in mental ray, you cannot simply obtain these values by testing... it's imposible. This is kind of weird that no presets are included. Maybe search in maya help for some numbers, and yet there was a video on this subject, maybe gnomon or something. Those numbers are VERY sensitive, so no guessing here helps. Ask at mymentalray.com forum, there were shader presets created, I'm sure for this too.
