Title: Blades, Flowers, and Death!
Name: Matt Silcott
Country: USA
Software: Photoshop

This project is entirely my own idea, using no reference. I wanted to depict a scene that held a contrasting theme, hence the ogre with a soft spot and the elf showing his evil streak. This was not my first digital piece, however it is my first completed Photoshop painting. C&C welcome. Enjoy!

I think this piece has a lot of potential. However, I think it would be a lot stronger if you paid more attention to your light source. The shadows on the ground suggest a strong directional light source but the shading on your objects don't match it. While I truly enjoy the pose and expression of the ogre, I think the malice in the elf could be played up a bit and the pose made more logical. Right now, the elf isn't going to inflict the maximum amount of damage in that pose. Maybe pull his arms up for a downward strike or have them forward for a good thrust. Other than, I think the background needs to be defined more in terms of volume, but thrown more into shadow to bring the focus on the characters. This could be very funny, so play up the exaggeration.
