View Full Version : Can't see R3D files after latest update and RED plugin

I installed the Red CS4 installer from red.com/support and the additional RED edit settings plugin, but when I go to import I still cannot select R3D files as a valid footage file - it won't even display R3D files in the file import window.

I did install the red plugin BEFORE installing the AE 9.0.1 patch, so following a post I saw somewhere, I removed the red installer and re-installed it. Still no go.

I'm on Windows XP 64bit, dual-quad core w/ 8G RAM.

I tried loading one of the .mov proxy files, get an error that it can't find the "" file - so I tried doing 'search' and selecting the R3D file there. It kinda brings in a clip at the right size, but its completely white.

What am I missing? Latest AE and RED plugin - but can't load R3D files...?? Help!

Many thanks for any ideas

No clue. Can you point to any reference files for verification? I had a few short clips once, but I can't seem to find them anymore...

I'm not sure what you mean to point to reference files? You mean the proxy .mov files? No, I can't open those either.

I have R3D files from two separate shoots. When I do file -> import -> file and browse to the directory where the R3D file is, it doesnt even show up in the list. So it seems AE has nothing to tell it that R3D is a valid footage extension -but I've re-installed the red installed many times, still no go....

Do you have sufficient user privileges? Sounds like the plugin isn't even loading. Also try to trash the prefs. Maybe the installer cannot register all components and set the default config.
