Title: Wall-E Robot
Name: Harry Callaghan
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

After watching Wall-E on Blu-Ray I decided to model the star. He's such an amazing character I thought he deserved a shot. =D

The background is a photograph - the location inspired by living in London. =P

This was rendered using the standard scanline renderer in 3DS Max 9 and composited with Photoshop.

NEW - Alternate Render:

Nice work man.

Two crits would be that photo background is standing out too much and is fighting with Wall-E. I would have personally changed the camera angle to include a little more of Wall-E and emphasized the bokeh more.

Also, I dont see much reflection or specular on Wall-E.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

Thanks AryaFX, I added quite a bit of depth-of-field to the background but I didn't want to overdo it. I guess you're right though, the two subjects seem to compete for canvas space a bit. :hmm:

I only added reflections / specular to his eyes and power bar because most of him is dirty, rusted and covered in dust so I didn't think he'd appear very shiny. :)

Thanks,

Harry.

Great model.
I agree with aryaFX. He should have some sort of clear coating on all his body parts.
It would push the realism alot more for you.

That second render is awesome. The first seemed a little out for me but the second render is 5star!
