I recently tried to install maya on my Gentoo computer. Ie heard people hadf problems getting it started and stuff, but I didnt encounter anything until I got it started.
When I try to open/save a file i get an error saying "Couldn't find procedure projFileViewer" and when i try to open Hypershade i get "Couldn't find procedure pluginInfo".
I think I figured out that maya doesn't load all MEL-scripts when I start it, because when I load others/fileBrowser.mel from the script map, I can see the file browser when i try to open or save, but i still can't do it because maya cant find pluginInfo.
Anyone knows where I can fix this problem?
