ivo D 06-21-2003, 12:36 PM im busy with my room in 3d..
now are some things mesmoothed and so on.. they have to be..
but now radiosity takes. a serious long time..
is this just the thing i have to accept.. or is ther some other way..
i know i can juts light it normally with spots and so on..but that aint the most realistic way..

ow.. ther is an opton right.. to make everyobject into a primitiv.. ?..so than i can test radiosity on the primitiv.. base of my room with everything in it..and than for final render it with the original full detail mesh.. but wher is that option ?..

I don't know about such a feature.
But how about making the primitives yourself and aligning them up to the other objects? Hide the complex objects, and start yer tweakin'. It's a bit of manual work, but nothing a few hours at most can't handle I'd guess.

yep.. it probably will be that option.. thx anyway ;)
hello, are you making a 3d of your actual room? if you are you might want to test my technique

You need a camera, take pictures of your room and get every part in.Create the model and use the pictures for texture maps.Keep the material 100% iluminated. And lower the shine and make everything flat.No lights should be used, click render and you should get a 3d room with realworld R and GI.But the mapping must be correct tho

it wouldn't make much sense testing radiosity with a proxy mesh, since it needs a detailed mesh for good results.

oke thx.. i wont.. just use objects.. but.. uhm now when i un activate radiosity.. al goes black.. but i just want to set it off temporarely.. so i can just render normall to see my textures.. caus now icant see anything.. how do i do that ?
