Well while making my latest mesh I figured I needed a break and went looking through my books for some light reading, and found one of my old TINTIN books and decided hay why not make a wallpaper with my low poly rocket I made for Starfleet Command II, so I went alookin on the net for a simple tutorial to go with it, and remembered I have always wanted to make grass, so here you go, the tween shall meet.

Rocket is much too dark in my opinion but a nice looking scene for sure.

The whole thing seems quite a bit too dark in my opinon. Everything is a bit hard to see.

I love the concept of the image (yea tintin rules :)) and the modeling seems ok, but would probably look better if the rocket was higher poly. Also the lighting could use some work on it.

hmm now its too bright and cheerful :(
i think what you need to do is work off the first one, and add a very small bit more ambiant light(I think thats the right term :) :shrug: )

was playing around with the image a bit and made a higher poly model for the rocket, I think it looks a lot better.

Yea i like the second one better. Make the rocket shiny, i like shiny stuff. I think it would look a lot better with some specularity and reflection. O yea and it seems like the grass is huge when compared to the door on the ship..pretty big grass and the door could be more detailed. Thats about all I have to say

you know it never even crossed my mind about shinny, :hmm: but it only figures that it would be, thanks for the reminder.
